President Trump participated this year in a long-term tradition to serve the football college champions, however with something far less traditional. President Trump served piles of burgers and fish sandwiches from McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s all still in their boxes. Dipping sauces were stacked into silver gravy boats and served. Heat lamps kept fries and Dominos pizza warm along with a choice of a salad.

Players are normally offered a more traditional meal from the kitchen at the White House, but Sarah Huckabee Sanders said they would be receiving something else.

“Because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security, much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed — so the president is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone’s favorite fast foods,” Sanders said, courtesy of New York Times.

Sanders says with the government shut-down it calls for a new menu. Even with the substitution of a non traditional meal, neither Trump seemed bothered nor did players.
