Many people are excited to kick off the Halloween season with an event everyone can enjoy, even your dog. On October 13, Waggin Trail Park will be hosting a dog costume contest from 1:00- 2:30. This is the perfect opportunity to show off your dog and their Halloween costume. Big dogs will perform at 1:15 and small dogs at 1:30 and all you have to do is show up. A $5 donation per dog is required at the gate or an item to donate to the Parkville Animal Shelter. There will also be vendors, treats, and door prizes.

“I’m really excited, I think it will be a fun experience. I really like dogs and I want to see the costumes. I just think it will be really fun around Halloween time because Halloween is usually scary, this will be fun and light hearted,” Taralynn Bailey, sophomore, said.

So grab your dog and leash and head up to Waggin Trail Park at NE 32nd and Swift in North Kansas City for a howling good time!
