After weeks of uncertainty and accusations, Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed as the Supreme Court Justice. In a close voting count of 50-48, he won due to “swing voters.” There have been allegations for sexual misconduct, however, that Kavanaugh is accused of. Christine Blasey Ford accused him of assaulting her as a teenager in the 1980’s. After delivering a fiery testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Kavanaugh was further investigated by the FBI. Less than a week later, the background check concluded no further investigation was necessary.
As for his views on current and controversial issues, Kavanaugh is a Conservative Republican and believes in the nation’s rights to guns and banning abortion. He was sworn in on October 8, 2018 and will continue to serve until he chooses to step down.
