The tragic road rage victim of Saturday night has died. Cody M. Harter was a 23 year old Missouri Air National Guard member. He was driving on 291, when the vehicle in front of him stopped. They both got out and started to argue, the other man pulled out a knife and stabbed Harter. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the mystery murderer is still at large. He pulled off onto I-70 where he abandoned his truck. While in the Missouri Air National Guard he served in Iraq and more recently he has helped with hurricane relief in both Houston and Puerto Rico. In accordance to the death the road was closed down until midnight Saturday.
At a press conference regarding his death his mother said,”It was senseless. He’s been to war and back and to die because someone was angry. I can only imagine someone was upset because he wasn’t going fast enough. Is that a reason to take his life and leave him there?” (Courtesy of CBS News).
The family of the victim is asking anyone who has information or recognizes the killer’s maroon 2003 Chevrolet to call the Lee’s Summit Police Department at 816-969-7390.
