FCCLA, otherwise known as the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Gathered for their first official meeting of the year on Tuesday right after school in Mrs. Pike’s room (1165).

“My favorite part about FCCLA is all the leadership aspects, the community service projects we do and the group of people in the club,” Ahilyn Aceves, FCCLA Secretary, said.

This organization is all about leadership, volunteering and immersing themselves within the community to better understand the world around them. The members of the club also go on weekend trips to leadership conferences, for example the team has traveled to Tan-Tar-A, Missouri and Little Rock, Arkansas in the past few years.

The meeting covered things such as the FCCLA tailgate, the Father-Daughter Dance in October, HyVee Bake Sales and the members that are interested in attending Cluster in Denver, Colorado in November. Join FCCLA in their next meeting to find out more!
