If the student does not meet one of the criteria above and drops a class after the 10th school day of the semester, an \u201cF\u201d will be recorded on the transcript and included in the student\u2019s GPA calculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Students who change out of a year-long class at the end of the first semester<\/strong> must meet the following guidelines: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 The teacher, parent, and administrator must confer and agree. <br>\u2022 Any student wishing to withdraw from an IB class must meet with the IB Coordinator, counselor, course instructor, and his\/her parent to complete a \u201cRequest to Drop\/Change IB Course\u201d form and submit the form to their counselor. <br>\u2022 Students who plan to drop an IB course during the testing year must arrange to do so before November 1st to avoid exam fees. <br>\u2022 Student must get a \u201cChanging a Year-Long Class at Semester\u201d form from his\/her counselor. <br>\u2022 The parent, teacher, and administrator must sign the \u201cChanging a Year-Long Class at Semester\u201d form. <br>\u2022 Student must make an appointment with his\/her counselor to make the change. <br>\u2022 A teacher may request that a student be removed from the year-long class at the end of the first semester based on a conference between a teacher and parent concerning a student\u2019s academic or behavioral difficulties under the following guidelines: <br>                o Both the parent and teacher must agree to place the student in another class. <br>                o If both parties disagree, an administrator will review the situation. <br>                o If a change is made to another section or subject in the department, the sending teacher is responsible for giving the student\u2019s grade (at the time of transfer) to the new teacher. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Change of Teacher<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 The teacher and parent must confer about the problem. <br>\u2022 After working on the problem for at least two weeks, the teacher and the student must decide if they can work together. <br>\u2022 The student and parent must request a teacher change. <br>\u2022 There must be a meeting with the student, teacher, parent, counselor, and assistant principal to discuss the problem. <br>\u2022 If a decision is reached to make a change, the student will be placed into a section with available capacity. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graduation Requirements | Schedule Change Policy Career &amp; Educational Planning Guide Use the Career &amp; Educational Planning Guide for academic information such as graduation requirements, area of focus, special programs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-207","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/207","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=207"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/207\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.lsnhs.lsr7.org\/counseling\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=207"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
